Ajinomoto visits Mushin, Aba markets to deepen sensitization on healthy living

Ajinomoto Foods Nigeria (AFN), manufacturers of AJI-NO-MO-TO®, DeliDawa and MaDish® seasonings, recently embarked on market visits to Ojuwoye Market, Mushin and Cemetery Market, Aba as part of efforts to sensitize and educate the public about hypertension in celebration of World Hypertension Day.

The team visited Ojuwoye Market, Mushin, Lagos State and Cemetery Market, Aba, Abia State on May 17 and May 21, respectively.

According to the management of AFN, the visit was to educate the audience on hypertension, the impact of excessive salt intake and the benefits of using AJI-NO-MO-TO® in reducing the risk hypertension, particularly the presence of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG).

Glutamate (Umami substance and source of MSG) is present in most natural foods such as meat, seafood, vegetables, cheese, tomatoes and milk and also, in our local food seasoning like Ogiri, Daddawa and Iru. AJI-NO-MOTO® seasoning is approved by global and local health authorities including NAFDAC.

While on the visit, the team embarked on other line of activities that include a health drive, where free checkups on blood pressure, sugar level, as well as weight and height, were carried out by specialized medical practitioners, particularly to people over the age of 40. The management equally used the opportunity to reassure Nigerians about the safety of AJI-NO-MO-TO® food seasoning stating that it has been validated by food scientists, nutritionists, researchers, national and global regulatory bodies. The management further stressed that the food seasoning promotes low salt intake, healthy living and enhances the flavour of foods.

Some of the management staff that were part of the visit include Kawamura Takuto, AGM Marketing, Ajinomoto Foods Nigeria Ltd; Adamu Salman, AGM Sales/CCR, Ajinomoto Foods Nigeria Ltd and Francisca Ikediashi, Corporate Communications Manager, Ajinomoto Foods Nigeria Ltd. Also present was one of the AFN brand ambassadors, food influencer and chef, Ifeyinwa Mogekwu, popularly known as Ify’s Kitchen, who was there to engage with the audience and tell them how she makes delicious meals using AJI-NO-MO-TO®.
