Marcus Rashford left himself out when naming a dream Manchester United six-a-side team featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and David De Gea.
The 26-year-old, who has made over 400 senior appearances for United since making his debut in 2016, was asked to pick his dream side in a Q&A session on Instagram Live.
Having played alongside, and watched, some great players over the years at Old Trafford, it must have been difficult to pick just six.
But the England international made a good job of explaining his decisions.
“Right, I’m going to go with most players from the teams that I watched when I was growing up,” he began.
“I’d probably have [David] De Gea, but it was a close one between him and [Edwin] Van der Sar.
“When I was a kid Van der Sar was one of the best keepers and obviously playing with David has been great, so I’d have to put David in there.”
Rashford went on to select his one defender before going “all out attack” with a forward line featuring former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
“At the back I’d have Rio Ferdinand,” he added.
“I’m all out attack here. I’d have [Paul] Scholesy in front of Rio, [Ryan] Giggs on the right, [Cristiano] Ronaldo on the left and [Wayne] Rooney up front.
“I’m not putting myself in. Not yet.”
Rashford has previously named Rooney and Ronaldo as his two idols growing up.
And when asked about Ronaldo’s sour departure from Manchester United in 2022, the Wythenshawe-born forward described Portugal’s all-time top scorer as his “idol”.
“Listen, it’s been an unbelievable experience to play with him,” he said.
“He’s obviously one of my idols and someone I’ve always looked up to. So to have the opportunity to play with him is unbelievable and I’ll take that with me and it’s something that I can keep with me forever.”
