When the rich and famous throw a birthday bash, it often ends up being outrageously lavish. But there are some well-heeled soirées that still come up esthetic, unique and classy. One of such hosts is Nigerian tech tycoon, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh. There is no gainsaying that Ekeh has an eye for luxury. And that extends to his parties. It’s a common phrase among his chums that there is no party like Ekeh’s party. This he demonstrated once again recently on the occasion of his beloved wife, Chioma’s 60th birthday.
For his wife’s diamond celebration, the Zinox Group Chairman pulled out all of the stops and splashed the bucks for a four-day, all-expenses-paid 60th birthday exclusive soirée held at his London multi-million pound magnificent tech mansion situated on five-acre prime land at St. George’s Hill in Surrey, United Kingdom.
The Weybridge suburb —a private gated resort area populated by a group of Jewish, Arabian and Russian billionaires— was lit. Ekeh’s digital mansion is indeed a marvel. His healthy living lifestyle is discernible by the installations and overall design of the mansion. As the celebration unfolded over four fun-filled days, 60 couples —including Nigerians, British and Asians— were invited for the soiree. Those guests couldn’t have had a better host than Ekeh who ensured that every one of them had a memorably good time.
On the main day – 27 April – it was a black-themed grand birthday bash. The new ‘diamond girl’ —Chioma Ekeh nee Emelonye—was all glam and beaming as she was surrounded by her hubby and five kids, as well as her own siblings. There was a torrent of heartfelt speeches, praises and encomium for the celebrant, who on her own merit, has become a beacon of inspiration for women in technology. To make his sweetheart’s day truly special, the billionaire flew in two international gospel artistes —Sinach and Ada— to entertain their rich chums.
One of the most memorable moments during the four-day ceremony was on Day Two – 25 April, her main birth date – when an all-night disco party was held. All eyes were on 68 year-old Ekeh as he took over the role of the Disc Jockey from DJ ChoplifeIhama and displayed his deft skill behind the turntable dishing out well-mixed oldies and contemporary Afrobeats.
