In line with the teaching of Jesus Christ, the Teen Ambassador Foundation yesterday extended its medical outreach to no fewer than 1000 indigent Nigerians in the Luvu Madaki community, Karu local council of Nasarawa state.

The beneficiaries comprising the children, the young and the aged irrespective of their gender were screened and administered drugs for the treatment and management of hepatitis, hypertension, diabetes, ulcer, malaria and HIV free of charge.

Coordinator for the foundation, Mr Samuel Munza disclosed that the intervention extended to the needy in Niger and Kaduna states last year was aimed at coming to the rescue of underprivileged Nigerians across the 36 states of the Federation.

Paul Adiwu the Director General of the foundation disclosed that the intervention was a follow-up to that of last year in the community adding it was in the spirit of the Easter and Ramadan fasting period.

“This is a special period. In the spirit of the Easter and Ramadan fasting, we felt we should reach out to people here. Everybody is here and so we took advantage of the season to fix this day so that people would be able to benefit,” he said

“But aside from the medical outreach, we are going into education we have a computer laboratory presently along Airport Road which we would kickstart with a training in computer mathematics. We have a lot of interventions we have been making to assist the needy in society.”

The head of Angwan Gimba, Mr Noah Danjuma expressed appreciation to the Teen Ambassador Foundation for coming to their rescue.

For 80 years old hypertensive patient, Mr David Marcus, the intervention was timely as he could hardly afford to feed

“Yes, we have a government-owned Primary healthcare clinic not too far away from here. But I don’t have the money for drugs. I have been suffering for some time now. I am so happy today.’

Mrs Gloria Peter who alongside her husband and two children benefited from the medical outreach was full of praises to the Teen Ambassador Foundation just as she called on well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.
