Three men have been arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 10 ear buds, 10 Bluetooth speakers, and 15 iPhones.
The police charged 22-year-old Oluwafemi Adeniji, 27-year-old Olatunji Adeoshun, and 24-year-old Peter Oladipupo with conspiracy, theft, and falsification.
The three defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Victor Eruada, told the court that the defendants and other persons at large committed the offence on September 11, 2021, at the Computer Village, Ikeja.
“The defendants stole 10 earbuds worth N1m, 10 Bluetooth speakers worth N1m, and 15 iPhones worth N9.750m.
“The defendants also stole a Macbook Pro laptop valued at N750,000, and two iWatches belonging to Juddest Nigeria Limited,” Eruada said.
According to the prosecution, the three defendants also falsified sales invoices containing false information of the items.
Eruada stated that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 411, 287, and 363 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
“Section 278 of the Criminal Law prescribed three years’ imprisonment for stealing, while Section 411 prescribed two years for conspiracy,” Eruada said.
Magistrate T. O. Tanimola admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N300,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till October 29, 2021 for mention.
