Special Ultrasound training and sales

The Training and ICT unit of The Royal Medical and Health Pilot Publishers  Limited in conjunction with two of her sister organisations ,the Pilot Medical Diagnostics and PJ medical stores and Equipment  is introducing a special Ultrasound training and sales for Medical doctors and hospitals /diagnostic centers respectively   . The knowledge and use of ultrasound scan in Obstetrics and Gynaecology  are what every medical doctor, irrespective of the cadre ,should not be over-emphasized.

Imagine a doctor is in a private hospital on a Sunday morning with a suspected case of ruptured ectopic pregnancy, most sonographers and almost all diagnostic centers  do not work on Sundays ,what will the doctor do? Rush the patient into the theatre without Ultrasound confirmation? That is unethical!

To this end, The Royal Medical and Health Pilot Publishers ltd in conjunction with Pilot Medical Diagnostics is introducing another level of ultrasound training for all medical doctors.

We sharpen your ultrasound skills through our Telegram preparatory classes and when you feel you are okay with the basics of the medical ultrasonongraphy  then you can proceed to any of our diagnostic centers nationwide for the practical/hands-on training with at least ten patients  for two weeks .

Digital X-ray machine

The economic value of a medical doctor with ultrasound skills cannot be over-emphasized. Most diagnostic centers in the world prefer doctors handling their ultrasound scan than non-doctors, the nearest example is our tertiary hospitals and many multinational diagnostic centers  because outside the ultrasound skills the doctors also have the skills of clinical correlation.

It may interest you to know that Obstetric ultrasonography is what every medical doctor, from the cadre of medical officers upwards, should be knowledgeable of, as it is obtainable  in other developed climes .Obstetric ultrasonography is the use of medical ultrasonography in pregnancy, in which sound waves are used to create real-time visual images of the developing embryo or fetus in its mother’s uterus (womb). The procedure is a standard part of prenatal care in many countries, as it can provide a variety of information about the health of the mother, the timing and progress of the pregnancy, and the health and development of the embryo or fetus.

The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) recommends that pregnant women have routine obstetric ultrasounds between 18 weeks and 22 weeks gestational age (the anatomy scan) in order to confirm pregnancy timing, to measure the fetus so that growth abnormalities can be recognized quickly later in pregnancy, and to assess for congenital malformations and multiple pregnancies (i.e. twins). Additionally, the ISUOG recommends that pregnant women have obstetric ultrasounds between 11 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days gestational age in countries with resources to perform them (the nucal scan). Performing an ultrasound at this early stage of pregnancy can more accurately confirm the timing of the pregnancy and can also assess for multiple fetuses and major congenital abnormalities at an earlier stage. Research shows that routine obstetric ultrasound before 24 weeks gestational age can significantly reduce the risk of failing to recognize multiple gestations and can improve pregnancy dating to reduce the risk of labor induction for post-dates pregnancy. There is no difference, however, in perinatal death or poor outcomes for babies.

The knowledge of ultrasonography is increasingly becoming compulsory for proper patient management.
It has to be noted that the practice of ultrasonography is not an exclusive preserve of the Radiographers.
In tertiary health institutions, it is the resident doctors who man the ultrasonography unit .
Join our training as follows:
(1) Online training on our paid forum where you will be groomed with the principles of Ultrasonography by our team of experts.
Membership is for live and the cost is N10,000 only

(2) When you feel you have gathered enough theoretical Ultrasound knowledge and skills you can then book for your 2-week hands-on (practical) training/session with us in any of our locations nationwide in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja .
Cost is N50, 000 (Without accommodation ) or N70,000 (with accommodation)

Hope you aware that there is no sonographer/sonologist that does not make at least N50,000 daily .
Some doctors are poor today and some even retire poor because we always like to follow the path of our predecessors who never owned any plazas, estates or business empires ,the funniest of it all is that the path left by our predecessors are already saturated hence no room for creativity .
Even if you are in a private sector, your worth/salary /earning increases when you have ultrasound skills because the least a radiographer can collect to man a centre for a month is 200K.
Are you aware that most radiographers in private sectors working for 8am-4pm earn higher than most medical doctors manning a hospital for 24 hours ? Are you surprised? Is that not surprising that radiographers that have less risk in managing patients earn higher that you? There are fewer radiographers as fewer universities offer the course in Nigeria. The few radiographers available tell their employers in the private sector what they want to collect and since no other applicant is coming for the vacant position, the employer will be forced to accept what the employee presents.

This is not applicable to other health professionals like the doctors, nurses, lab scientists et cetera who are churned out ,in their numbers, from virtually all universities every six months ( main and resit exams).A private hospital owner can easily fire a doctor/nurse/lab scientist etc and before you say jack-robinson another doctor/nurse/lab scientist, who has been looking for job for years will resume even when it is clear to him/her that same fate awaits him/her somewhere in future.
Do you know that some international health institutions in Nigeria employ doctors to man their ultrasonography unit instead of Radiographers ,the reason is simple ,doctors as sonologists can easily clinically correlate their findings hence employing a doctor as a sonologist saves time in making a proper diagnosis and it is same one person doing the job meant for two people.
The start-up salary of an MO’s manning ultrasound unit in Me cure Diagnostics ( just to mention but a few) is 450k while their counterparts are still battling with N800 per hour locum cover or 100-150k monthly salary for 24-hour coverage in many hospitals .
